K-J Aussies is nestled in the foothills of Battle Ground, Washington. What started as a love of the working Australian Shepherd has grown into a passionate program to preserve the traditional working Aussie.
First and foremost, we believe that this breed originated as a working stockdog, and that is what these dogs should be. We want our dogs to have the traditional old style Aussie appearance. Moderate in height and weight, athletically built, keen dogs that are intelligent, biddable, and have a strong working instinct even at a young age.
Strongly loyal and protective of "their own", but not aggressive to people or other dogs. They are easily trained, tough enough to get the job done, but sensible enough to be house dogs and companions.
